A playground where both your family and your furry friends can have a good time, Ballenger Creek Park offers soccer fields, picnic tables, community gardens, barrier-free playgrounds, horseshoe pits and a dog park, as well as other amenities. The park is also home to Ballenger Creek Linear Park, a 4-mile-long trail that connects Ballenger Creek Park to Buckeystown Pike and is perfect for hikers!

Sophie & Madigan’s Playground | 632 Contender Way, Frederick, MD 21703

What do an ice skating pond, fire rings, a sled run and volleyball nets have in common?Even though these playground features might seem disconnected, Pinecliff Park is where they unite! Built alongside the banks of Monocacy River, this pet-friendly playground acts as both the jack and master of the elements of fun that create an ideal playground experience, with nature trails, a boat launch and fishing opportunities.
Pinecliff Park is open from Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Urbana District Park | 3805 Urbana Pike, Frederick, MD 21704
A barrier-free playground with nature trails, sand volleyball courts and grills, Urbana District Park brings history to the playground with its majestic Veteran Memorial. A good way to educate your children about war history in an accessible way, the playground also invites visitors to walk, run and bike along the adjacent 3.1-kilometer Urbana District Park Walk.
Urbana District Park is open from Sunday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Utica District Park | 10200-B Old Frederick Road, Frederick, MD 21701
As the largest park in Frederick County, Utica District Park throws open its colorful arms to embrace children of all ages. With two separate play areas for younger children and older children, the park also offers multiple baseball and soccer fields for families to watch and enjoy games together.
Utica District Park is open year-round from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
