From Frederick’s first-ever pride parade to a festival of chalk art, there are so many opportunities to show your true colors this weekend and celebrate what makes Frederick unique.

Inaugural Frederick Pride Parade and Frederick Pride
June 27-28, 7 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday
Parade starts from East Patrick Street and ends at the Baker Park Bandshell; Frederick Pride takes place at Carroll Creek Linear Park | Frederick, MD 21701
Celebrate Pride Month at the first-ever pride parade in Frederick! Community organizations, costumed performers and members of the LGBTQ community will be parading across Downtown Frederick. Don’t miss the popular Frederick Pride festival the next day, which features a vendor fair, live music, a children’s area and more. The Delaplaine Arts Center will also be hosting an art program for the festival.

So Kids SOAR Picnic

This hotly anticipated fundraiser and community picnic invites kids with disabilities and their loved ones to connect with one another and have an accessible day of fun! Learn cheerleading basics at an adaptive cheer clinic or take part in other games and activities. This event is also open to volunteers ages 15 and older.

Chalk-Palooza and Bubble Fest

Get ready to get messy and be creative at this colorful festival encouraging people of all ages to draw and decorate the sidewalk of Sophie & Madigan’s Playground! There will also be bubbles to enjoy and shaved ice from the event’s sponsor, Kotei Kids Shaved Ice.
