Must-Sees: There’s so much to do in Baltimore City that visitors can easily fill several weeks seeing everything the city has to offer. Animal lovers will enjoy the National Aquarium, which is home to thousands of aquatic animals and houses a rainforest greenhouse, and the Maryland Zoo, where visitors can see exotic animals right in the middle of the city. It’s also a paradise for art enthusiasts, with museums like the Baltimore Museum of Art, Walters Art Museum and American Visionary Art Museum, all within a fairly short distance of each other.
If you’re in Baltimore during baseball season, catch a game at Camden Yards. There are also several more quirky and offbeat sites to visit, like the Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum and the Baltimore Tattoo Museum.
Local Nature: A city as large as Baltimore doesn’t have much in the way of nature, but there are still places to stop and relax amidst the urban sprawl. Druid Hill Park is where the Maryland Zoo is located, and also has waterfront trails, sports fields and the H.P. Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens.
In the northern part of the city, there’s Sherwood Gardens, which is especially popular during the early spring when its over 50,000 tulip bulbs bloom. It’s also a well-loved site for wedding and event photos.
