Must-Sees: Salisbury is a cute college town with a lot to do, even for people who are just visiting. Salisbury City Park has many fun places to go with children, like the Salisbury Zoo and the massive Ben’s Red Swings Community Playground. Everything in the park is free, so it’s a very affordable place to spend an afternoon.

If your favorite part of traveling is eating at different restaurants and sampling local cuisine, take an OC Foodie Tour. There are many different themes to choose from, such as vineyards, seafood and downtown Salisbury staples, and these tours are a great way to familiarize yourself with the area and learn about its culture and history while enjoying delicious food.

There’s a lot to love in Wicomico County for baseball fans. If you’re visiting during baseball season, catch a Delmarva Shorebirds game at Perdue Stadium or tour the Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame and learn about Maryland baseball legends.

Local Nature: Wicomico County has a lot of public land for hiking and biking, so there are many options for anyone who wants to get outside. The Nanticoke River Wildlife Management Area is home to one of the highest concentrations of bald eagles in the eastern U.S., and the river itself is the last place in Maryland where people can fish for sturgeon. The park also has many interesting places to go hiking, like the Sharptown Dunes. Another interesting hiking spot is Naylor Mill Forest, a rare old-growth forest full of giant red oaks that burst into gorgeous colors in the fall.

If you prefer boating and swimming to hiking, there are also many beaches in the area and places that offer access to the waterfront. Cove Road Beach is a great beach to visit with children due to its calm, shallow water. Roaring Point is a bit of a trek to get to, but it’s a nice, quiet beach surrounded by forest and a popular spot for fishing and crabbing.
