Festivals and Animal Fun in Frederick: April 25-27

The weather is nice, so it’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy fun activities in Frederick County! Celebrate the season at two different spring festivals, or take part in a 5K benefitting rescue dogs. With so much to do, you’re sure to find something your whole family will enjoy.

Spring Fest 2025

Join Hood College for its annual celebration of spring! There will be carnival games and rides on the quad to enjoy, live music and plenty of free goodies. Stick around for a crab feast!

South Mountain Creamery Annual Spring Festival

April 26, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

South Mountain Creamery | 8305 Bolivar Road, Middletown, MD 21769

We all scream for ice cream at this fun farm festival! Take a tour of South Mountain Creamery’s milk production plant and make your own butter or ice cream. Other activities include hayrides, a petting zoo, a local artisan market and Civil War Demonstrations by the Museum of Civil War Medicine.

10th Annual Fast & Furriest 5K/1M Run

April 27, 7:30 a.m.-noon

Heritage Farm Park | 9236 Devilbiss Bridge Road, Walkersville, MD 21793

Lace up your sneakers for a good cause at this annual race and fun run, which benefits the nonprofit dog rescue organization Operation Paws for Homes. Leashed dogs are welcome! Virtual options are available for anyone who would like to participate but cannot come in-person.
