Get Down and Dirty at These Messy Festivals in Frederick: June 6-8

There’s no need to worry about getting dirty at these outdoor festivals throughout Frederick! Whether you’re creating chalk art, participating in a tractor pull contest or getting into a foam fight, there’s plenty of fun to be had this weekend.

CMATC 47th Annual Gas Engine, Tractor and Truck Show

June 6-8, noon-8 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday

If your child loves trucks or construction equipment, this weekend-long festival is the perfect event to check out! It’s not just for tractor and truck owners, as there will also be a vendor fair, food and live entertainment. Kids’ activities include wagon and barrel train rides, interactive exhibits and a Kiddie Pedal Pull competition every day.

Mess Fest

Get down and dirty at this first-ever community event hosted by the parenting website Macaroni Kid! Kids don’t have to worry about staying clean at this messy festival, complete with a foam party, bubbles and color powder, along with neater activities like a zip line and games.

Don’t miss the newest arts event in Frederick! Watch professional chalk artists cover the streets in unique art, and even add to the chalk art installations yourself. During the evening, there will be live art competitions where artists will have an hour to create a piece that fits a contest theme from scratch. Check it out while you’re at the Frederick Festival of the Arts this weekend!
