Carve your own pumpkin or vote for the best jack-o’-lantern at this annual fundraiser that helps raise money for the Frederick Rescue Mission, which feeds food-insecure people in Frederick County. There will be live music and plenty of food to try as well. It’s a fun event supporting a great cause!

Aimed at guests ages 3 to 7, this event includes a live musical performance from costumed characters, a tea party, a parade and more! Mother and Son Medieval Knight Out

Farm Fun With a Fun Guy
Oct. 4, 1-3 p.m.
Learn how to grow your own mushrooms at Fungus Among Us: Growing Mushrooms with Jared Urchek, a workshop held at Fox Haven Farm in Jefferson. Participants will take home their own mushroom-growing starter after learning from a local mycologist and forager.

Walk for Women
Oct. 25, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Starting at the Riverside Park Boat Ramp in Frederick, Freedom Walk: A Fundraiser for Women in Recovery will raise money for women in recovery from addiction. This easygoing 5K walk is appropriate for all ages and will feature plenty of family fun activities. Kids are welcome to bring a bike or scooter!

Don’t Have a Cow
Oct. 26, 2-6 p.m.
Moo-ve over to The Great Frederick Fair for Cowfest, a celebration of all things bovine. Wear a costume or purchase a cow onesie as Frederick tries to break the record for the largest gathering of people dressed as cows! There will also be a fun run, live music and Halloween activities for kids.

Nov. 7, 6-9 p.m.
Folkways are the traditions that give a place its unique identity. Learn more about Frederick County’s at Folkways by the Fire, a fireside music and arts event at Snook Family Agricultural Center in Frederick.
