Teen Workout: Planet Fitness

Theodore “Teddy” Savage, national lead trainer for Planet Fitness (PF), and his nephew, Miles, demonstrate in the above video an easy at-home fitness routine you can do with your teen.

Moves using a medicine ball, including skaters, plyo jacks, toe taps and power skips, and kettlebell exercises including reverse lunge with trunk rotation, alternating lateral lunge with overhead extension, row to triceps kickback and the kettlebell clean are all well suited for teens with growing bodies because their compound movements target multiple muscle groups while focusing on the functional application of strength and cardio to daily movement patterns.

This promotes proper muscle development, strengthens balance and coordination and helps build stronger cardiovascular health to prevent heart-related illnesses. Teens can join PF at age 13.
