Here’s a roundup of fun seasonal events happening in Frederick County over the next few weeks.

December 1
‘A Very Electric Christmas’

A young bird named Max and his family begin their journey south for the winter in this heart-warming tale.

Holiday Arts and Crafts Expo

This is a great excuse to hop. The Holiday Arts & Crafts Expo Artists’ Market will feature local artists showcasing their paintings, textiles, jewelry, woodworking, leather good, pottery and more.  The Delaplaine Arts Center, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free. delaplaine.org

Super Secret Elf Workshop

Calling all elves! Report to the Delaplaine Arts Center for their annual holiday workshop, where kids create craft to give as holiday gifts. Kids can drop in anytime between 1-p.m.  Delaplaine Arts Center, $10 per elf. delaplaine.org

Holidays Parade

Celebrate the holiday season in downtown Brunswick at their annual holiday parade. The parade kicks off at 6 p.m. with a tree lighting to follow. Downtown Brunswick. Free. brunswickmd.gov

Snowflake Social

Shoppers who spend more than $75 at Francis Scott Key Mall get an invite to the annual Snowflake Social. Bring your receipt for admissions for an afternoon full of holiday games, makeovers by Claire’s, a DJ, contests, giveaways, a reading from Mrs. Claus and more. December 7-December 22

Santa Train at Walkersville Southern Railroad

Take a ride with Santa! Enjoy beautiful wintery scenery and meeting the Big Elf himself. Rides are one hour and 10 minutes — rain, snow or shine. Free hot chocolate and cookies will be served in the museum after your ride.

The Nutcracker Ballet

Museums by Candlelight

25th Annual Messiah Sing-Along

Candlelight Tour of Historic Houses of Worship

This unique tour pays tribute to Frederick’s tradition of religious diversity, local history, and of course, the holidays.

‘Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells’
