Whether you want to take to the skies as a superhero-in-training or watch painters in their natural environment, Frederick County has you covered with these fun, family-friendly events!

Superhero Training Day

Sept. 12, 3-6 p.m.

Pinecliff Park | 8350 Pinecliff Park Road, Frederick, MD 21704

Kids can suit up and live out their superhero fantasy for a day at this fun and interactive event! Attendees will journey through different stations based on the powers of popular superheroes and will even receive a free cape. Superhero costumes are encouraged!

Paint the Town: Thurmont Plein Air

Sept. 13, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Thurmont Main Street | 11 Water St., Thurmont, MD 21788

Artists flood the streets of Thurmont at this annual event that encourages both amateur and expert artists to paint what they see around them. If you’re an artist, it’s a great opportunity to meet other artists and swap tips and techniques. Spectators are also welcome to walk around and watch the artists at work!

In the Streets

Downtown Frederick | 50 Carroll Creek Way, Frederick, MD 21701

This street fair has been an annual tradition in Frederick for over 40 years, and remains a great way to learn more about your local community. Regularly attracting over 75,000 people each year, this festival showcases Frederick’s local businesses, from shops to restaurants. The event kicks off with the Market Street Mile run and walk in the morning.
